Alice & Eve is an initiative to celebrate the contributions of women in computing. We present inspiring women in computing, both to the general public, and to professionals.
Alice & Eve comprises a wide variety of activities: 1-day symposium, a poster competition, a physical exhibition portraying 25 women in computer science. And the website you are currently visiting, featuring a digital exhibition.
The first edition of Alice & Eve was held in January 2020, at the University of Twente. The second edition has taken place in November 2021 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

WHO ARE ALICE AND EVE?
​
Alice and Eve are fictional characters commonly used as placeholders in cryptographic systems and protocols. Alice and Bob are generally represented as characters exchanging a message or cryptographic key. Eve represents an "eavesdropper", who can listen to messages between Alice and Bob.
